Badgemore Park Captains Raise Outstanding Funds for Local Charities in 2024

Badgemore Park’s Captains for 2024, Melvyn Keen and Sandy Johnson, have demonstrated the power of community spirit by raising an incredible amount of money for their chosen charities. Throughout the year, the Captains dedicated their efforts to supporting causes close to their hearts, and their hard work has led to a remarkable total raised for charity.

The Men’s Captain, Melvyn Keen, chose to support CURE Usher, a charity focused on funding research and raising awareness for Usher Syndrome, a condition that affects both hearing and vision. Through a series of fundraising events, competitions, and community initiatives, Melvyn and the members of Badgemore Park successfully raised an outstanding £12,853.92 for CURE Usher.

Meanwhile, the Lady Captain, Sandy Johnson, directed her fundraising efforts towards The Chiltern Centre, a local organisation dedicated to providing vital care and support to young people with disabilities and their families. Thanks to the generosity and dedication of the members, £6,406 was raised to support the invaluable work of The Chiltern Centre.

The combined total of £19,259.92 stands as a testament to the generosity and commitment of the Badgemore Park community. From charity golf days to raffles, auctions, and social events, the members came together to make a significant impact on the lives of those in need.

Both Captains expressed their gratitude for the unwavering support they received throughout the year. Melvyn Keen highlighted how the contributions to CURE Usher would help fund crucial research and support for those affected by the condition. Likewise, Sandy Johnson emphasised the importance of The Chiltern Centre’s work and how these funds would assist in improving the lives of young people with disabilities.

Badgemore Park Golf Club has long been known for its dedication to charity and community engagement, and 2024 was no exception. The achievements of this year’s Captains serve as an inspiration, showcasing the incredible impact that can be made when people come together for a good cause.

Congratulations to Melvyn Keen, Sandy Johnson and the entire Badgemore Park community for their outstanding efforts and generosity in making a real difference in the lives of others.
